USS Samuel B. Roberts (U.S. Navy) REVERSE PRINT Transparent Die-Cut STICKER

Design Overview

This striking sticker features a reverse-printed design, creating a unique and eye-catching visual effect. The artwork centers around the USS Samuel B. Roberts, a guided-missile frigate (FFG-58) of the Oliver Hazard Perry-class, paying homage to the ship and the legacy it represents.

Visual Elements and Symbolism

The central element of the design likely depicts the profile of the USS Samuel B. Roberts, showcasing its distinctive silhouette. This is a powerful symbol of naval prowess, representing the ship's role in anti-submarine warfare, anti-air and anti-surface combat, and maritime security operations.

The design may incorporate elements referencing the ship's armament, such as stylized representations of guided missiles, anti-ship missiles, or the 76 mm gun. These visual cues highlight the ship's offensive and defensive capabilities, further emphasizing its purpose and role within the U.S. Navy.

The transparent die-cut nature of the sticker allows for a seamless application, blending the artwork with the surface it's applied to. This provides the impression that the image is fused into the base, resulting in a more integrated design.

The reverse print creates a sense of depth and added dimension, allowing the viewer to "look through" the design. This technique also gives the artwork a polished finish.

Meaning and Representation

The sticker honors the history of the name, representing the courage and sacrifice of Ensign Samuel B. Roberts, as well as the later frigate. It serves as a tribute to the dedicated men and women who served aboard the USS Samuel B. Roberts and the ships that carried the name.

Reverse-print die-cut decals are made to be installed on the **inside** of glass so your artwork faces outward. Built from water-resistant vinyl and finished with a matte UV laminate, they’re designed to stay vivid while being protected from the elements.

Think of these as “inside-protected” window graphics: the printed face is applied to the glass interior, which keeps the design shielded from direct contact and weather. The core material is a robust, water-resistant vinyl topped with a matte laminate that reduces glare and adds scratch resistance.

We use eco-solvent inks for saturated, long-lasting color, and each decal is precision die-cut so the edges sit clean against the glass. Finished in the USA from globally sourced components, these decals balance durability with a professional, understated look.

  • Material: water-resistant vinyl with a matte UV-protective laminate.
  • Method: reverse-print (installed inside glass) so the environment meets glass, not the ink.
  • Durability: engineered for multi-year outdoor performance when properly applied.
  • Made in the USA: assembled locally from globally sourced parts.
  • Design notes: very small elements placed close together may cut into a single shape; low-contrast elements on dark glass can be hard to see from the street.

Where do people put these? Storefront windows, car or van glass (interior mount), glass office partitions, and interior display cases are common spots. Because the print faces outward but is protected from the outside, the graphic holds up better against touch and weather.

  1. Prep: thoroughly clean the glass—use mild soap and water or an alcohol wipe for grease. Let it dry completely.
  2. Position: peel a corner of the liner and align carefully. Lay the decal down slowly, pressing from the center outward to push out air.
  3. Finish: use a soft card or squeegee to smooth edges; allow at least 24 hours for the adhesive to fully bond before heavy exposure to weather.

Heads-up: if your design uses fine text or very thin lines packed close together, consider simplifying those elements—small slivers can merge during cutting. Also, designs placed on dark-tinted glass will read darker and may lose subtle hues.

Care is low-key but worthwhile. Wipe decals with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. For more stubborn dirt, use a lightly damp microfiber and blot dry right away.

Avoid abrasive pads, scouring powders, and harsh solvents such as straight ammonia or concentrated cleaners—those can dull the laminate or lift edges. Proper, gentle cleaning preserves the matte finish and color saturation over time.

Available in five sizes. We list sizes by the sticker’s longest side—so a 4″ decal measures four inches across its greatest dimension. The die-cut follows the artwork outline for a tight, professional edge.

If your artwork has intricate islands or very thin gaps, expect slight variation: tiny islands may be merged into a single piece during cutting. When in doubt, test at a slightly larger scale or simplify closely spaced details.
