USS Ponce LPD 15 (U.S. Navy) REVERSE PRINT Transparent Die-Cut STICKER - Design Overview

This sticker features a reverse-printed design of the USS Ponce (LPD-15), a significant vessel in the U.S. Navy's history. The use of a reverse print on transparent material offers a unique visual effect, allowing the ship's silhouette and details to be viewed from both sides, as if the ship is floating in the clear water.

Visual Representation

The central element is a detailed illustration of the USS Ponce itself. The design highlights the ship's key features, including its hull form, superstructure, and likely outlines of the landing craft capabilities. The die-cut nature of the sticker ensures that the shape perfectly contours around the ship's form, emphasizing its unique profile. This careful approach to the ship's design captures the essence of its role as a versatile amphibious transport dock, capable of projecting power and offering support to maritime operations and humanitarian assistance.

Symbolism and Meaning

The USS Ponce (LPD-15) represents a legacy of service, particularly its role in amphibious assaults and later as an Afloat Forward Staging Base. This sticker design encapsulates the spirit of these missions. The depiction of the ship itself serves as a visual testament to the ship and the sailors who served. The reverse print adds another layer of representation, as the transparency allows the background or surface it is placed on to show through, highlighting the adaptability and dynamic nature of the vessel and its crew. The sticker design symbolizes strength, and the dedication of the U.S. Navy personnel.

Reverse-print die-cut decals are made to be installed on the **inside** of glass so your artwork faces outward. Built from water-resistant vinyl and finished with a matte UV laminate, they’re designed to stay vivid while being protected from the elements.

Think of these as “inside-protected” window graphics: the printed face is applied to the glass interior, which keeps the design shielded from direct contact and weather. The core material is a robust, water-resistant vinyl topped with a matte laminate that reduces glare and adds scratch resistance.

We use eco-solvent inks for saturated, long-lasting color, and each decal is precision die-cut so the edges sit clean against the glass. Finished in the USA from globally sourced components, these decals balance durability with a professional, understated look.

  • Material: water-resistant vinyl with a matte UV-protective laminate.
  • Method: reverse-print (installed inside glass) so the environment meets glass, not the ink.
  • Durability: engineered for multi-year outdoor performance when properly applied.
  • Made in the USA: assembled locally from globally sourced parts.
  • Design notes: very small elements placed close together may cut into a single shape; low-contrast elements on dark glass can be hard to see from the street.

Where do people put these? Storefront windows, car or van glass (interior mount), glass office partitions, and interior display cases are common spots. Because the print faces outward but is protected from the outside, the graphic holds up better against touch and weather.

  1. Prep: thoroughly clean the glass—use mild soap and water or an alcohol wipe for grease. Let it dry completely.
  2. Position: peel a corner of the liner and align carefully. Lay the decal down slowly, pressing from the center outward to push out air.
  3. Finish: use a soft card or squeegee to smooth edges; allow at least 24 hours for the adhesive to fully bond before heavy exposure to weather.

Heads-up: if your design uses fine text or very thin lines packed close together, consider simplifying those elements—small slivers can merge during cutting. Also, designs placed on dark-tinted glass will read darker and may lose subtle hues.

Care is low-key but worthwhile. Wipe decals with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. For more stubborn dirt, use a lightly damp microfiber and blot dry right away.

Avoid abrasive pads, scouring powders, and harsh solvents such as straight ammonia or concentrated cleaners—those can dull the laminate or lift edges. Proper, gentle cleaning preserves the matte finish and color saturation over time.

Available in five sizes. We list sizes by the sticker’s longest side—so a 4″ decal measures four inches across its greatest dimension. The die-cut follows the artwork outline for a tight, professional edge.

If your artwork has intricate islands or very thin gaps, expect slight variation: tiny islands may be merged into a single piece during cutting. When in doubt, test at a slightly larger scale or simplify closely spaced details.
