Unidentified Man, Woman, And Child And Unidentified Soldier With Musket And Woman (U.S. Civil War) STICKER Vinyl Die-Cut Decal

This design reproduces a pair of 1850s-era portraits in the sepia tones of a tintype, showing a family group and a young soldier with a woman.

Visual Elements & Composition

The image is built as two framed panels, echoing a hinged case with oval-cornered gilt edges. In one, a seated bearded man sits beside a woman who holds a young child. In the other, a young man in a military-style jacket holds a rifle, standing alongside a woman in a hooped skirt. The palette is warm and muted, with sepia grey dominating, antique gold in the frames, and dark brown and a touch of muted red in the clothing and shadows.

Meaning & Symbolism

Portraits of this kind were made in the years before and during the American Civil War, when families sat for images to mark a moment, a bond or a departure. The pairing of a domestic family group with a soldier and his companion speaks to the way the war entered ordinary lives, and the image stands as a picture of the period.

Shaped for the Sticker

A die-cut sticker follows the outline of its artwork, so the framed panels can be cut to their own shape rather than sitting inside a square. That outline suits a vintage portrait, and the die-cut edge lets the gilt frame read as part of the image on a flat surface.

Die-cut vinyl decals: precision-cut shapes on premium water-resistant vinyl with a matte laminate and UV protection — built to resist sun, rain and everyday wear for long-lasting use.

These die-cut decals are trimmed exactly to the design, producing crisp edges and a professional finish. They’re made from thick, water-resistant vinyl and finished with a matte UV laminate that reduces glare while protecting colors from fading.

The production process uses eco-solvent inks for dense, even color and a protective overlaminate that helps the decal survive outdoor exposure. Rated for multi-year outdoor life when applied to the right surface, these decals give a clean, matte look without sacrificing durability.

  • Material: premium water-resistant vinyl engineered for weather resistance.
  • Finish: matte laminate that mutes shine and guards against scratches.
  • Print: eco-solvent inks for solid blacks and vivid color depth.
  • Protection: UV laminate extends outdoor life and helps prevent fade.
  • Longevity: rated to last multiple years outdoors under normal conditions.

Die-cut decals adhere best to smooth, non-porous surfaces — glass, metal, coated plastics and finished wood. They work well on bottles, windows, laptops and vehicle windows for short- to medium-term outdoor use.

  1. Prep the surface: remove dust and oils with a lint-free cloth; for residue use mild soap and water and allow to dry fully.
  2. Peel and position: lift a corner of the liner, align the decal and lay it down slowly, pressing from the center outward.
  3. Seal: smooth the edges with a card or your thumb to ensure full contact and reduce trapping air.

Note: to keep adhesive performance in wet conditions, apply decals to very smooth surfaces (for example: glass). Avoid rough or heavily textured materials where the adhesive can’t form a full bond.

Maintenance is low-effort. Gently wipe decals with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp microfiber and light pressure will clean the surface — dry immediately afterward.

Avoid abrasive pads, strong solvents or power washers; these can scratch the laminate or lift edges. Proper care preserves the matte finish and keeps colors vivid for longer.

Sizes are specified by the longest side. For example, a 4″ decal measures four inches across its greatest dimension. The die-cut follows the artwork’s contour so the decal sits flush with clean, professional edges.

Small variations can occur with intricate outlines, but the listed measurement always reflects the maximum edge-to-edge length for accurate placement planning.
