TW THWcy47-1 (Taiwan) (Road Sign) STICKER Vinyl Die-Cut Decal

A black-bordered provincial route marker, drawn in flat black and white, reads 嘉 above the route number 47-1.

Visual Elements & Composition

Nearly nine-tenths of the surface is white, held by a black rectangular border with softened corners. Inside that frame the character 嘉 takes the upper position in heavy black strokes, and the route number 47-1 follows below it with the hyphen rendered as a short dash. Nothing else competes for attention: there is no gradient, no texture and no secondary colour, so the sign reads as one clear block of information.

Meaning & Symbolism

嘉 is the first character of Chiayi (嘉義), a county-level region on the western side of Taiwan, and the number pairs with it the way route designations do on a provincial highway: the numeral identifies a specific road, not the place itself. The piece takes its language from the modern route-marker tradition in Taiwan, so it belongs to the present day rather than to any older period.

Shape on the Object

A die-cut sticker keeps the shape of its artwork, so the black border defines the outline of the sticker. Set on a flat surface, the marker reads as a discrete sign, much like a route shield standing on its own panel.

Die-cut vinyl decals: precision-cut shapes on premium water-resistant vinyl with a matte laminate and UV protection — built to resist sun, rain and everyday wear for long-lasting use.

These die-cut decals are trimmed exactly to the design, producing crisp edges and a professional finish. They’re made from thick, water-resistant vinyl and finished with a matte UV laminate that reduces glare while protecting colors from fading.

The production process uses eco-solvent inks for dense, even color and a protective overlaminate that helps the decal survive outdoor exposure. Rated for multi-year outdoor life when applied to the right surface, these decals give a clean, matte look without sacrificing durability.

  • Material: premium water-resistant vinyl engineered for weather resistance.
  • Finish: matte laminate that mutes shine and guards against scratches.
  • Print: eco-solvent inks for solid blacks and vivid color depth.
  • Protection: UV laminate extends outdoor life and helps prevent fade.
  • Longevity: rated to last multiple years outdoors under normal conditions.

Die-cut decals adhere best to smooth, non-porous surfaces — glass, metal, coated plastics and finished wood. They work well on bottles, windows, laptops and vehicle windows for short- to medium-term outdoor use.

  1. Prep the surface: remove dust and oils with a lint-free cloth; for residue use mild soap and water and allow to dry fully.
  2. Peel and position: lift a corner of the liner, align the decal and lay it down slowly, pressing from the center outward.
  3. Seal: smooth the edges with a card or your thumb to ensure full contact and reduce trapping air.

Note: to keep adhesive performance in wet conditions, apply decals to very smooth surfaces (for example: glass). Avoid rough or heavily textured materials where the adhesive can’t form a full bond.

Maintenance is low-effort. Gently wipe decals with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp microfiber and light pressure will clean the surface — dry immediately afterward.

Avoid abrasive pads, strong solvents or power washers; these can scratch the laminate or lift edges. Proper care preserves the matte finish and keeps colors vivid for longer.

Sizes are specified by the longest side. For example, a 4″ decal measures four inches across its greatest dimension. The die-cut follows the artwork’s contour so the decal sits flush with clean, professional edges.

Small variations can occur with intricate outlines, but the listed measurement always reflects the maximum edge-to-edge length for accurate placement planning.
