Visual Elements & Composition

The leaf is built from restrained tones: warm paper grey, ink black and mid grey, with a single note of seal red. Ink bamboo stalks and leaves fill the picture with loose, energetic strokes, while a cursive calligraphic inscription runs across the surface. Two red artist seals sit among the marks, and the characters 石濤 appear as the artist's signature, anchoring the composition in its own hand.

Meaning & Symbolism

The leaf belongs to a celebrated album of twelve paintings made in the early Qing period by Shitao, also known as Zhu Ruoji. He rejected rigid academic formulas and argued for direct engagement with nature, applying brush and ink spontaneously to convey inner spiritual resonance. Reminder: these stickers are not waterproof. Keep them away from sinks, outdoor exposure, and dishwasher cycles to maintain adhesion and finish.
