SADC road sign R402 (Angola) (Road Sign) STICKER Vinyl Die-Cut Decal

This design reproduces the R402 road sign used in Angola, a single traffic sign drawn from the Southern African Development Community's shared signage standards.

Visual Elements & Composition

The composition is built around one central sign, with its symbol and any numerals sitting at the centre of the frame. Nothing competes with it. The layout is simple and direct, the way a sign has to be when a driver reads it at a glance from a moving vehicle, and that clarity is the design's core quality.

Meaning & Symbolism

The Southern African Development Community sets unified road traffic sign standards across its member states so that a driver crossing a border meets the same visual language throughout. R402 belongs to the regulatory and informational side of that framework, the signs that guide traffic and manage flow. Its standardised symbols carry meaning without translation, which is why the sign reads the same across the region.

Designed for the Die-Cut Sticker's Own Outline

A die-cut sticker is cut to the edge of its artwork, so the sign's outline becomes the sticker's outline. The shape is the message, and the object takes on the sign's silhouette rather than sitting in a rectangle around it. Placed on a laptop, a notebook or a toolbox, it reads as a small piece of road furniture, a quiet nod to transport design for anyone who notices signs as objects in their own right.

Die-cut vinyl decals: precision-cut shapes on premium water-resistant vinyl with a matte laminate and UV protection — built to resist sun, rain and everyday wear for long-lasting use.

These die-cut decals are trimmed exactly to the design, producing crisp edges and a professional finish. They’re made from thick, water-resistant vinyl and finished with a matte UV laminate that reduces glare while protecting colors from fading.

The production process uses eco-solvent inks for dense, even color and a protective overlaminate that helps the decal survive outdoor exposure. Rated for multi-year outdoor life when applied to the right surface, these decals give a clean, matte look without sacrificing durability.

  • Material: premium water-resistant vinyl engineered for weather resistance.
  • Finish: matte laminate that mutes shine and guards against scratches.
  • Print: eco-solvent inks for solid blacks and vivid color depth.
  • Protection: UV laminate extends outdoor life and helps prevent fade.
  • Longevity: rated to last multiple years outdoors under normal conditions.

Die-cut decals adhere best to smooth, non-porous surfaces — glass, metal, coated plastics and finished wood. They work well on bottles, windows, laptops and vehicle windows for short- to medium-term outdoor use.

  1. Prep the surface: remove dust and oils with a lint-free cloth; for residue use mild soap and water and allow to dry fully.
  2. Peel and position: lift a corner of the liner, align the decal and lay it down slowly, pressing from the center outward.
  3. Seal: smooth the edges with a card or your thumb to ensure full contact and reduce trapping air.

Note: to keep adhesive performance in wet conditions, apply decals to very smooth surfaces (for example: glass). Avoid rough or heavily textured materials where the adhesive can’t form a full bond.

Maintenance is low-effort. Gently wipe decals with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp microfiber and light pressure will clean the surface — dry immediately afterward.

Avoid abrasive pads, strong solvents or power washers; these can scratch the laminate or lift edges. Proper care preserves the matte finish and keeps colors vivid for longer.

Sizes are specified by the longest side. For example, a 4″ decal measures four inches across its greatest dimension. The die-cut follows the artwork’s contour so the decal sits flush with clean, professional edges.

Small variations can occur with intricate outlines, but the listed measurement always reflects the maximum edge-to-edge length for accurate placement planning.
