Placa via dutra (Brazil) (Road Sign) STICKER Vinyl Die-Cut Decal

This design shows a Brazilian highway sign, the kind of roadside marker that names a route and guides drivers along it.

Visual Elements & Composition

The artwork is built around a single subject, the sign itself, with nothing added around it. The sign's panel shape and lettering dominate the frame, so the eye lands on the road marker first. The layout is direct and uncluttered, with the sign presented as the whole image rather than as part of a wider scene.

Meaning & Symbolism

The Via Dutra is the highway that links São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, two of Brazil's largest cities, and it is one of the country's busiest transport corridors. The road takes its name from Marshal Eurico Gaspar Dutra, who served as president of Brazil from 1946 to 1951. A sign bearing that name stands for the route, the travel between those cities, and the national infrastructure built to connect them. It reads as a small emblem of Brazilian geography and the everyday business of getting from one place to another.

Cut to the Shape of the Road

A die-cut sticker follows the outline of its image, so this sign is cut to its own edge and carries no background square. That suits a design built on one clear silhouette. The sign is a compact object meant to be seen up close, and its shape does the work that a frame or border would do on a larger piece.

Die-cut vinyl decals: precision-cut shapes on premium water-resistant vinyl with a matte laminate and UV protection — built to resist sun, rain and everyday wear for long-lasting use.

These die-cut decals are trimmed exactly to the design, producing crisp edges and a professional finish. They’re made from thick, water-resistant vinyl and finished with a matte UV laminate that reduces glare while protecting colors from fading.

The production process uses eco-solvent inks for dense, even color and a protective overlaminate that helps the decal survive outdoor exposure. Rated for multi-year outdoor life when applied to the right surface, these decals give a clean, matte look without sacrificing durability.

  • Material: premium water-resistant vinyl engineered for weather resistance.
  • Finish: matte laminate that mutes shine and guards against scratches.
  • Print: eco-solvent inks for solid blacks and vivid color depth.
  • Protection: UV laminate extends outdoor life and helps prevent fade.
  • Longevity: rated to last multiple years outdoors under normal conditions.

Die-cut decals adhere best to smooth, non-porous surfaces — glass, metal, coated plastics and finished wood. They work well on bottles, windows, laptops and vehicle windows for short- to medium-term outdoor use.

  1. Prep the surface: remove dust and oils with a lint-free cloth; for residue use mild soap and water and allow to dry fully.
  2. Peel and position: lift a corner of the liner, align the decal and lay it down slowly, pressing from the center outward.
  3. Seal: smooth the edges with a card or your thumb to ensure full contact and reduce trapping air.

Note: to keep adhesive performance in wet conditions, apply decals to very smooth surfaces (for example: glass). Avoid rough or heavily textured materials where the adhesive can’t form a full bond.

Maintenance is low-effort. Gently wipe decals with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp microfiber and light pressure will clean the surface — dry immediately afterward.

Avoid abrasive pads, strong solvents or power washers; these can scratch the laminate or lift edges. Proper care preserves the matte finish and keeps colors vivid for longer.

Sizes are specified by the longest side. For example, a 4″ decal measures four inches across its greatest dimension. The die-cut follows the artwork’s contour so the decal sits flush with clean, professional edges.

Small variations can occur with intricate outlines, but the listed measurement always reflects the maximum edge-to-edge length for accurate placement planning.
