ISS Expedition 35 (NASA) Sticker Design

This vinyl die-cut decal celebrates the historic ISS Expedition 35, a mission that marked a significant milestone in space exploration. The design boldly captures the essence of this expedition through carefully chosen visual elements.

Artwork Overview

The design prominently features the International Space Station, rendered with a clean, detailed silhouette that immediately identifies the subject. Above the ISS, the Canadian flag stands out, paying homage to Commander Chris Hadfield, the first Canadian to lead an ISS expedition. The flag's positioning symbolizes leadership and innovation in the realm of space exploration.

Symbolism

The artwork utilizes color and form to evoke key themes of the mission. The sleek, modern design of the ISS represents international collaboration and technological advancement. Surrounding the ISS, faint depictions of stars are subtly included to communicate the depth of space. The absence of traditional space images that are often used is a nod towards the emphasis on scientific investigation.

Visual Storytelling

The sticker design tells a story of discovery, teamwork, and the spirit of exploration. The image acts as a vivid tribute to the Expedition 35 crew, the scientific achievements accomplished, and the crucial role that these types of missions play in advancing spaceflight and furthering human knowledge.

Die-cut vinyl decals: precision-cut shapes on premium water-resistant vinyl with a matte laminate and UV protection — built to resist sun, rain and everyday wear for long-lasting use.

These die-cut decals are trimmed exactly to the design, producing crisp edges and a professional finish. They’re made from thick, water-resistant vinyl and finished with a matte UV laminate that reduces glare while protecting colors from fading.

The production process uses eco-solvent inks for dense, even color and a protective overlaminate that helps the decal survive outdoor exposure. Rated for multi-year outdoor life when applied to the right surface, these decals give a clean, matte look without sacrificing durability.

  • Material: premium water-resistant vinyl engineered for weather resistance.
  • Finish: matte laminate that mutes shine and guards against scratches.
  • Print: eco-solvent inks for solid blacks and vivid color depth.
  • Protection: UV laminate extends outdoor life and helps prevent fade.
  • Longevity: rated to last multiple years outdoors under normal conditions.

Die-cut decals adhere best to smooth, non-porous surfaces — glass, metal, coated plastics and finished wood. They work well on bottles, windows, laptops and vehicle windows for short- to medium-term outdoor use.

  1. Prep the surface: remove dust and oils with a lint-free cloth; for residue use mild soap and water and allow to dry fully.
  2. Peel and position: lift a corner of the liner, align the decal and lay it down slowly, pressing from the center outward.
  3. Seal: smooth the edges with a card or your thumb to ensure full contact and reduce trapping air.

Note: to keep adhesive performance in wet conditions, apply decals to very smooth surfaces (for example: glass). Avoid rough or heavily textured materials where the adhesive can’t form a full bond.

Maintenance is low-effort. Gently wipe decals with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp microfiber and light pressure will clean the surface — dry immediately afterward.

Avoid abrasive pads, strong solvents or power washers; these can scratch the laminate or lift edges. Proper care preserves the matte finish and keeps colors vivid for longer.

Sizes are specified by the longest side. For example, a 4″ decal measures four inches across its greatest dimension. The die-cut follows the artwork’s contour so the decal sits flush with clean, professional edges.

Small variations can occur with intricate outlines, but the listed measurement always reflects the maximum edge-to-edge length for accurate placement planning.
