ISL 31 (Iceland) (Road Sign) STICKER Vinyl Die-Cut Decal

ISL 31 is a minimalist design built around a single designation, set against the identity of Iceland.

Visual Elements & Composition

The composition is stripped back to one focal point: the code ISL 31, presented plainly with no decorative framing or supporting imagery. The lettering and numerals carry the entire design, so the eye lands on the text first and nothing else competes with it. The result reads like a sign, direct and legible at a glance, with the restraint of a piece meant to be understood quickly.

Meaning & Symbolism

ISL is the three-letter country code for Iceland, the Nordic island nation, so the design identifies the country through its own shorthand rather than through landscape or national symbols. The number 31 sits alongside that code as the designation that gives the piece its specific identity. Together they turn a country code into a motif, linking the work to geography, travel and national identity without any added narrative.

Built for a Single Outline

This die-cut sticker is cut to the edge of its own design, so the ISL 31 lettering becomes the silhouette itself. There is no border to trim around and no background to frame it, which suits a design that depends entirely on its shape. Placed on a laptop, a journal or a travel case, it presents the code as a clean, self-contained mark.

Die-cut vinyl decals: precision-cut shapes on premium water-resistant vinyl with a matte laminate and UV protection — built to resist sun, rain and everyday wear for long-lasting use.

These die-cut decals are trimmed exactly to the design, producing crisp edges and a professional finish. They’re made from thick, water-resistant vinyl and finished with a matte UV laminate that reduces glare while protecting colors from fading.

The production process uses eco-solvent inks for dense, even color and a protective overlaminate that helps the decal survive outdoor exposure. Rated for multi-year outdoor life when applied to the right surface, these decals give a clean, matte look without sacrificing durability.

  • Material: premium water-resistant vinyl engineered for weather resistance.
  • Finish: matte laminate that mutes shine and guards against scratches.
  • Print: eco-solvent inks for solid blacks and vivid color depth.
  • Protection: UV laminate extends outdoor life and helps prevent fade.
  • Longevity: rated to last multiple years outdoors under normal conditions.

Die-cut decals adhere best to smooth, non-porous surfaces — glass, metal, coated plastics and finished wood. They work well on bottles, windows, laptops and vehicle windows for short- to medium-term outdoor use.

  1. Prep the surface: remove dust and oils with a lint-free cloth; for residue use mild soap and water and allow to dry fully.
  2. Peel and position: lift a corner of the liner, align the decal and lay it down slowly, pressing from the center outward.
  3. Seal: smooth the edges with a card or your thumb to ensure full contact and reduce trapping air.

Note: to keep adhesive performance in wet conditions, apply decals to very smooth surfaces (for example: glass). Avoid rough or heavily textured materials where the adhesive can’t form a full bond.

Maintenance is low-effort. Gently wipe decals with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp microfiber and light pressure will clean the surface — dry immediately afterward.

Avoid abrasive pads, strong solvents or power washers; these can scratch the laminate or lift edges. Proper care preserves the matte finish and keeps colors vivid for longer.

Sizes are specified by the longest side. For example, a 4″ decal measures four inches across its greatest dimension. The die-cut follows the artwork’s contour so the decal sits flush with clean, professional edges.

Small variations can occur with intricate outlines, but the listed measurement always reflects the maximum edge-to-edge length for accurate placement planning.
