HMLA 469 Vengeance v2 (USMC) REVERSE PRINT Transparent Die-Cut Sticker

Design Overview

This sticker design, representing HMLA-469 “Vengeance” of the United States Marine Corps, utilizes a reverse print technique, allowing for application on surfaces where the design is viewed through a transparent medium, such as a window. The die-cut nature ensures the artwork follows the contours of the design elements, providing a clean and professional appearance.

Visual Elements & Symbolism

The central element of the design likely features the squadron's namesake, "Vengeance," which is powerfully symbolic of the unit's post-9/11 ethos of retribution. This could be represented visually through a bold font choice or imagery associated with the concept of vengeance, such as a striking pose of a cobra or viper. The artwork may incorporate visual cues reflecting the aircraft flown by the squadron, the AH-1 attack helicopter (Super Cobra or Viper), and the UH-1 utility helicopter (Venom), potentially including silhouettes or detailed illustrations of these aircraft. The use of the squadron's number, "469," and possibly the Marine Corps insignia or a stylized emblem, reinforce the unit's identity and connection to its mission.

The color palette probably incorporates the traditional colors associated with the USMC, such as red, white, and blue, or might also include shades of grey and black for a more aggressive appearance, reflecting the squadron's role in providing close air support and offensive capabilities. The overall design seeks to convey strength, precision, and the Marine Corps' unwavering commitment, mirroring the squadron's core mission of providing offensive and utility helicopter support in combat.

Reverse-print die-cut decals are made to be installed on the **inside** of glass so your artwork faces outward. Built from water-resistant vinyl and finished with a matte UV laminate, they’re designed to stay vivid while being protected from the elements.

Think of these as “inside-protected” window graphics: the printed face is applied to the glass interior, which keeps the design shielded from direct contact and weather. The core material is a robust, water-resistant vinyl topped with a matte laminate that reduces glare and adds scratch resistance.

We use eco-solvent inks for saturated, long-lasting color, and each decal is precision die-cut so the edges sit clean against the glass. Finished in the USA from globally sourced components, these decals balance durability with a professional, understated look.

  • Material: water-resistant vinyl with a matte UV-protective laminate.
  • Method: reverse-print (installed inside glass) so the environment meets glass, not the ink.
  • Durability: engineered for multi-year outdoor performance when properly applied.
  • Made in the USA: assembled locally from globally sourced parts.
  • Design notes: very small elements placed close together may cut into a single shape; low-contrast elements on dark glass can be hard to see from the street.

Where do people put these? Storefront windows, car or van glass (interior mount), glass office partitions, and interior display cases are common spots. Because the print faces outward but is protected from the outside, the graphic holds up better against touch and weather.

  1. Prep: thoroughly clean the glass—use mild soap and water or an alcohol wipe for grease. Let it dry completely.
  2. Position: peel a corner of the liner and align carefully. Lay the decal down slowly, pressing from the center outward to push out air.
  3. Finish: use a soft card or squeegee to smooth edges; allow at least 24 hours for the adhesive to fully bond before heavy exposure to weather.

Heads-up: if your design uses fine text or very thin lines packed close together, consider simplifying those elements—small slivers can merge during cutting. Also, designs placed on dark-tinted glass will read darker and may lose subtle hues.

Care is low-key but worthwhile. Wipe decals with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. For more stubborn dirt, use a lightly damp microfiber and blot dry right away.

Avoid abrasive pads, scouring powders, and harsh solvents such as straight ammonia or concentrated cleaners—those can dull the laminate or lift edges. Proper, gentle cleaning preserves the matte finish and color saturation over time.

Available in five sizes. We list sizes by the sticker’s longest side—so a 4″ decal measures four inches across its greatest dimension. The die-cut follows the artwork outline for a tight, professional edge.

If your artwork has intricate islands or very thin gaps, expect slight variation: tiny islands may be merged into a single piece during cutting. When in doubt, test at a slightly larger scale or simplify closely spaced details.
