HMLA 169 Vipers (USMC) REVERSE PRINT Transparent Die-Cut STICKER

Design Overview

This die-cut sticker features a striking design reflecting the Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 169, nicknamed the "Vipers." The artwork is rendered in a reverse print, designed to be applied to the inside of a window or transparent surface, making the design visible from the outside. The overall aesthetic is bold and professional, capturing the essence of a military aviation unit.

Visual Elements and Symbolism

The central element of the design likely showcases the unit's call sign, "Vipers," potentially incorporated with imagery of the AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter and/or the UH-1Y Venom utility helicopter. These aircraft represent the squadron's core mission: providing close air support, utility lift, and reconnaissance for Marine ground forces. The presence of these aircraft in the design immediately communicates the squadron's role and capabilities.

The design may integrate the squadron's official insignia or crest, incorporating Marine Corps elements like the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor to symbolize the unit's allegiance and connection to the USMC. The use of colors associated with the Marine Corps (red, gold, and green) may be used to enhance the visual impact of the design and reinforce the squadron's identity.

The reverse print format means that the intended backing of the sticker becomes the "face" when applied to a transparent surface, allowing for greater design flexibility and the potential for added visual depth and effect. The die-cut nature of the sticker ensures that the design will stand out and the individual elements are likely separated neatly for ease of use.

Reverse-print die-cut decals are made to be installed on the **inside** of glass so your artwork faces outward. Built from water-resistant vinyl and finished with a matte UV laminate, they’re designed to stay vivid while being protected from the elements.

Think of these as “inside-protected” window graphics: the printed face is applied to the glass interior, which keeps the design shielded from direct contact and weather. The core material is a robust, water-resistant vinyl topped with a matte laminate that reduces glare and adds scratch resistance.

We use eco-solvent inks for saturated, long-lasting color, and each decal is precision die-cut so the edges sit clean against the glass. Finished in the USA from globally sourced components, these decals balance durability with a professional, understated look.

  • Material: water-resistant vinyl with a matte UV-protective laminate.
  • Method: reverse-print (installed inside glass) so the environment meets glass, not the ink.
  • Durability: engineered for multi-year outdoor performance when properly applied.
  • Made in the USA: assembled locally from globally sourced parts.
  • Design notes: very small elements placed close together may cut into a single shape; low-contrast elements on dark glass can be hard to see from the street.

Where do people put these? Storefront windows, car or van glass (interior mount), glass office partitions, and interior display cases are common spots. Because the print faces outward but is protected from the outside, the graphic holds up better against touch and weather.

  1. Prep: thoroughly clean the glass—use mild soap and water or an alcohol wipe for grease. Let it dry completely.
  2. Position: peel a corner of the liner and align carefully. Lay the decal down slowly, pressing from the center outward to push out air.
  3. Finish: use a soft card or squeegee to smooth edges; allow at least 24 hours for the adhesive to fully bond before heavy exposure to weather.

Heads-up: if your design uses fine text or very thin lines packed close together, consider simplifying those elements—small slivers can merge during cutting. Also, designs placed on dark-tinted glass will read darker and may lose subtle hues.

Care is low-key but worthwhile. Wipe decals with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. For more stubborn dirt, use a lightly damp microfiber and blot dry right away.

Avoid abrasive pads, scouring powders, and harsh solvents such as straight ammonia or concentrated cleaners—those can dull the laminate or lift edges. Proper, gentle cleaning preserves the matte finish and color saturation over time.

Available in five sizes. We list sizes by the sticker’s longest side—so a 4″ decal measures four inches across its greatest dimension. The die-cut follows the artwork outline for a tight, professional edge.

If your artwork has intricate islands or very thin gaps, expect slight variation: tiny islands may be merged into a single piece during cutting. When in doubt, test at a slightly larger scale or simplify closely spaced details.
