Flag of the Department of Nord (France) STICKER Vinyl Kiss-Cut Decal

A typographic flag in slate blue and white, where the words of the design do the work that a picture would do elsewhere.

Colour, Shape & Layout

Slate blue fills about three-quarters of the rectangle and white carries the lettering across it. The design is built entirely from text, with the word Nord given the most weight and the smaller words le, Département, est and là set around it in a single calm line of type. Nothing else competes for attention, so the composition reads as a plain, ordered panel with the type forming its own pattern.

Meaning & Symbolism

The phrase is a direct statement of place. Nord names the northernmost department of France, in the Hauts-de-France region, and the words Le Département frame it as an administrative territory. Because the design relies on language rather than heraldic figures, its meaning sits in the name itself and in the traditional, civic character of French departmental identity that it expresses.

Cut to the Lettering

A kiss-cut sticker follows the outline of the artwork, so the slate rectangle can be placed on a surface as one clean block with its white type intact. The flat vector finish keeps the edges of each letter sharp, which suits a close look at the lettering. Indoors, on a laptop lid, a notebook or a window pane, the sticker works as a quiet, graphic statement of regional identity.
