CVN 70 USS Carl Vinson 1982 Holographic Sticker Design

This die-cut vinyl decal design celebrates the commissioning of the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) in 1982, a pivotal moment in the history of this powerful Nimitz-class aircraft carrier and the U.S. Navy. The holographic finish adds a dynamic and eye-catching element, reflecting light and offering a sense of depth and movement, much like the sea itself.

Visual Elements & Representation

The design prominently features the hull number "CVN-70," identifying the specific vessel. "CVN" clearly signifies the aircraft carrier classification, while the number uniquely brands the USS Carl Vinson. The year "1982" signifies the ship's commissioning date, anchoring the design in its historical context.

The overall presentation likely incorporates imagery associated with the ship, such as its silhouette, a stylized representation of the flight deck, or potentially elements of the ship's insignia. These elements serve to directly represent the aircraft carrier, conveying its identity and significant presence in naval operations.

Meaning & Symbolism

The design represents a tribute to the USS Carl Vinson, highlighting its role as a symbol of naval power and the United States' global presence. The holographic effect adds a modern touch, reflecting the ship's technological sophistication and enduring legacy. Holographic vinyl decals with a high-contrast rainbow sheen, printed with eco-friendly inks on premium, weather-rated film. Waterproof, UV-protected, and available in five sizes.

Built to turn heads and hold up outdoors. These holographic decals use premium printable vinyl topped with a UV-protective laminate. The film is rated for multi-year outdoor exposure, so the color stays bold and the surface resists scuffs and sun fade.

  • Signature finish: a 99% opaque rainbow effect that shifts with angle and light—clean edges and a smooth, matte-sheen feel rather than a mirror gloss.
  • Waterproof: designed for rain, splashes, and regular washing on smooth, non-porous surfaces.
  • Eco-conscious printing: vibrant, high-density color produced with eco-solvent inks for sharp lines and rich gradients.
  • Color guidance: no white underbase is applied; pure white areas won’t print, and very light tones allow the holographic layer to show through. Darker tones deliver the strongest contrast.
  • Easy-peel backing: release liner separates cleanly for quick, bubble-free placement.

Made for smooth surfaces: glass, metal, coated plastics, sealed laptops, bottles, mirrors, lockers, and windows. Suitable for interiors and short-term exterior spots like vehicle windows or signage.

  1. Prep: clean the area with mild soap and water or 70% isopropyl alcohol; let it dry fully.
  2. Apply: peel, align, and press from the center outward with a card or squeegee to push out air.
  3. Set: allow 24 hours for the adhesive to reach full bond; avoid heavy moisture during this time.

Tips: Avoid heavily textured or silicone-coated surfaces. For curved items, apply slowly and don’t stretch the film.

  • Wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth from the center outward to lift dust and grime.
  • Avoid abrasive pads, harsh solvents, or pressure washers that can dull the holographic layer.
  • If placed on bottles or mugs, hand-wash is recommended. Prolonged high-heat cycles can shorten adhesive life.

Available in five sizes. Measurements refer to the longest side of the decal. A “3 inch” option is 3 inches across its largest dimension; the die-cut follows the exact contour for crisp, professional edges.
