CLOUET, Jean - Portrait of Francois I, King of France (Artwork) STICKER Vinyl Die-Cut Decal

A Renaissance court portrait of Francis I, King of France, by Jean Clouet.

Visual Elements & Composition

The design is a portrait, centred on the king's head and shoulders. Its tones are the restrained, naturalistic palette of French court painting of the period, with the sitter's face and costume as the dominant focus. The composition is direct and formal, and the image has no added text or numerals.

Meaning & Symbolism

Francis I reigned as King of France from 1515 to 1547, and he was among the most important patrons of the Renaissance in France. Jean Clouet was the leading portraitist at the French court in the first half of the sixteenth century, and his portraits were known for their precise, close observation of the sitter. The image records how the French monarchy presented itself in that period.

Cut to the Portrait

A die-cut sticker follows the outline of its artwork, so the head and shoulders sit against a shape cut to the portrait itself. The fine detail in the face and costume is best seen up close, and it suits a laptop lid, a notebook or a sketchbook. The portrait gives a quiet, historical focal point to any surface it is placed on.

Die-cut vinyl decals: precision-cut shapes on premium water-resistant vinyl with a matte laminate and UV protection — built to resist sun, rain and everyday wear for long-lasting use.

These die-cut decals are trimmed exactly to the design, producing crisp edges and a professional finish. They’re made from thick, water-resistant vinyl and finished with a matte UV laminate that reduces glare while protecting colors from fading.

The production process uses eco-solvent inks for dense, even color and a protective overlaminate that helps the decal survive outdoor exposure. Rated for multi-year outdoor life when applied to the right surface, these decals give a clean, matte look without sacrificing durability.

  • Material: premium water-resistant vinyl engineered for weather resistance.
  • Finish: matte laminate that mutes shine and guards against scratches.
  • Print: eco-solvent inks for solid blacks and vivid color depth.
  • Protection: UV laminate extends outdoor life and helps prevent fade.
  • Longevity: rated to last multiple years outdoors under normal conditions.

Die-cut decals adhere best to smooth, non-porous surfaces — glass, metal, coated plastics and finished wood. They work well on bottles, windows, laptops and vehicle windows for short- to medium-term outdoor use.

  1. Prep the surface: remove dust and oils with a lint-free cloth; for residue use mild soap and water and allow to dry fully.
  2. Peel and position: lift a corner of the liner, align the decal and lay it down slowly, pressing from the center outward.
  3. Seal: smooth the edges with a card or your thumb to ensure full contact and reduce trapping air.

Note: to keep adhesive performance in wet conditions, apply decals to very smooth surfaces (for example: glass). Avoid rough or heavily textured materials where the adhesive can’t form a full bond.

Maintenance is low-effort. Gently wipe decals with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp microfiber and light pressure will clean the surface — dry immediately afterward.

Avoid abrasive pads, strong solvents or power washers; these can scratch the laminate or lift edges. Proper care preserves the matte finish and keeps colors vivid for longer.

Sizes are specified by the longest side. For example, a 4″ decal measures four inches across its greatest dimension. The die-cut follows the artwork’s contour so the decal sits flush with clean, professional edges.

Small variations can occur with intricate outlines, but the listed measurement always reflects the maximum edge-to-edge length for accurate placement planning.
