Visual Elements & Composition

The scene is built on a checkered floor where dancers in flowing dresses turn at the centre, framed by pointed arches on every side. Seated courtiers fill the balconies above, a diagonal staircase cuts across the architecture, and attendants in turbans stand close to the ruler. Warm white and black set the structure, while saffron orange, rose pink and emerald green carry the figures and textiles. The Maharana sits highest and most central, so the eye settles on him before it moves across the performance below.

Meaning & Symbolism

Court entertainment was a formal expression of rank. Who sat where, who watched and who performed all signalled political standing within the Mewar court, and the painter records that order with care. The Jagniwas Water Palace, set on Lake Pichola at Udaipur, was itself a seat of royal leisure, so the architecture places the gathering inside a symbol of the kingdom's prestige. The painting is dated 1767, during Ari Singh's reign, and is catalogued in the Rajasthan tradition of court painting, a record of royal life from the period.

What “kiss-cut” means: the blade cuts the vinyl layer into the exact shape while leaving the backing liner whole, so pieces separate cleanly and lift off the sheet without tearing. It’s the neatest way to produce shaped stickers and multi-piece sheets.

  • Material: reliable vinyl face with a permanent acrylic adhesive formulated for smooth, non-porous surfaces.
  • Finish: glossy surface that enhances contrast and depth without feeling overly reflective.
  • Printing: eco-solvent inks provide dense color and crisp detail for fine lines and gradients.
  • Use case: intended for indoor environments only — not waterproof. Not recommended for continuous exposure to moisture or dishwashing.
