Arms of the King of Spain as Monarch of Naples and Sicily (1598-1665) Decal

This striking decal presents the complex and historically rich coat of arms of the King of Spain during his reign over Naples and Sicily, a period often associated with Habsburg Austria. The artwork is a visually captivating representation of dynastic power, territorial claims, and imperial authority during the early modern era.

A Quartered Shield of Dynastic Significance

The design's foundation is a quartered shield, meticulously divided to showcase the diverse territories under the Spanish monarchy's control. Each quadrant tells a story of kingdoms and legacies woven together through dynastic ties.

First Quarter: The Royal Arms of Spain

The upper left quarter proudly displays the Royal Arms of Spain, incorporating the iconic symbols of Castilian and Aragonese power. The red Lion of Castile, set against a gold background, signifies the strength and authority of the Kingdom of Castile. Adjacent to the lion, the Aragonese Chain, rendered in gold against a red field, represents the Kingdom of Aragon, further emphasizing the unity of the Spanish kingdoms.

Second Quarter: Kingdoms of Naples and Sicily

The upper right quarter delves into the Spanish dominion over Italy, presenting the arms of Naples and Sicily. The silver and red pattern, along with a black eagle, symbolizes the Kingdom of Naples. Alongside, the triskelion, a symbol of three bent human legs, combined with the red and yellow color scheme, represents the Kingdom of Sicily.

Third Quarter: The Eagle of Austria

A potent symbol of Habsburg heritage is revealed in the third quarter. The Black Eagle, crowned and majestically displayed, is the emblematic representation of the Holy Roman Empire and the Habsburg dynasty's Austrian roots, reflecting the interconnectedness of power in Europe during the period.

Fourth Quarter: The Burgundy Cross

The final quarter is defined by the Burgundy Cross, or Burgundian Cross. This cross is emblematic of the territories of the Duchy of Burgundy, another significant possession of the Habsburgs, further solidifying the image of a vast and complex imperial dominion.

The Escutcheon and Embellishments

At the center of it all, sometimes the artwork features an escutcheon, a smaller shield at the heart of the design, bearing the Habsburg arms with their iconic black eagle on a gold field. Above the shield, the Crown of Spain, a symbol of royal authority, is often shown and serves as a visual reminder of the Spanish monarchy’s imperial status. Royal mantling (decorative drapery) elegantly frames the shield, adding another layer of visual richness to this historical heraldic masterpiece.

Glossy kiss-cut vinyl stickers made for smooth, indoor surfaces — laptops, journals, mirrors, and other finished items. Crisp edges, vivid color, strong hold, and not waterproof.

What “kiss-cut” means: the blade cuts the vinyl layer into the exact shape while leaving the backing liner whole, so pieces separate cleanly and lift off the sheet without tearing. It’s the neatest way to produce shaped stickers and multi-piece sheets.

  • Material: reliable vinyl face with a permanent acrylic adhesive formulated for smooth, non-porous surfaces.
  • Finish: glossy surface that enhances contrast and depth without feeling overly reflective.
  • Printing: eco-solvent inks provide dense color and crisp detail for fine lines and gradients.
  • Use case: intended for indoor environments only — not waterproof. Not recommended for continuous exposure to moisture or dishwashing.
  • Application friendly: easy-peel backing and a liner that releases cleanly to help reduce bubbles and misfeeds during placement.

These stickers perform best on smooth, dust-free surfaces — think laptop lids, sealed notebooks, glass, mirrors, finished shelving and lockers. They’ll stick well where the surface is flat and clean; avoid rough wood, silicone, fabric, and heavily textured paint.

  1. Clean: remove dust and oils with a lint-free cloth. For stubborn grime, use a mild soap and water rinse; let the area dry completely.
  2. Align: peel a corner, position carefully, then press the center down first.
  3. Smooth: work outward from the center with a soft card or a thumb to push air out and ensure the edges set down firmly.

Tip: give the adhesive 24 hours to fully settle before heavy handling. These are not designed for outdoor or wet conditions.

  • Gently dust with a soft, dry cloth, moving from the center outward to avoid scratching the gloss.
  • For light marks, a barely damp microfiber will lift residue — blot, don’t scrub, and dry right away.
  • Avoid bleach, solvents, abrasive pads, and steam; moisture or harsh chemicals can lift edges and fade inks.

Reminder: these stickers are not waterproof. Keep them away from sinks, outdoor exposure, and dishwasher cycles to maintain adhesion and finish.

Sizes are measured across the sticker’s longest side. For example, a 3″ sticker is 3 inches across its largest dimension (height or width, depending on the shape).

The kiss-cut follows the sticker’s outline for a tidy border; complex shapes can show small variances, but the advertised measurement refers to the maximum edge-to-edge length.
