Arms of Edward Duke of Kent (United Kingdom) (Coat of Arms) - Vinyl Kiss-Cut Decal

Design Overview

This decal features the heraldic arms of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, a prominent member of the British Royal Family. The design is a vibrant representation of his coat of arms, a symbol of his lineage, rank, and affiliations.

The Shield (Escutcheon)

The central element is the shield, the foundation of the design. It's "quarterly," meaning it's divided into four sections. The first and fourth quarters display the three gold lions passant guardant on a red background, representing England. The second quarter showcases a red lion rampant within a double tressure flory-counter-flory on a gold background, symbolizing Scotland. The third quarter features a gold harp with silver strings on a blue background, representing Ireland. Overall, this design signifies the United Kingdom.

Overlaid on top is a white label with five points, a "differencing mark" in royal heraldry to distinguish his arms. The first, third, and fifth points bear blue anchors. The second and fourth points bear red crosses.

The Crest

Above the shield sits the crest. It features a gold lion statant guardant (standing, facing the viewer) atop a coronet of four crosses-patée alternating with four strawberry leaves, appropriate to his rank as Duke. The lion wears the same coronet and label as the shield, reinforcing the theme of distinguished identity.

Supporters

The shield is flanked by supporters, which add a sense of grandeur. On the right (dexter) stands a gold lion rampant guardant, crowned with the same coronet. On the left (sinister), a silver unicorn with natural features stands, also wearing the coronet around its neck and a chain. Both supporters are "charged on the shoulder" with the same five-point label as the shield, tying them directly to the Duke's lineage.

Surroundings & Symbolism

The entire shield is encircled by the Garter, signifying his membership in the Order of the Garter. This reinforces the historical significance and social status of the holder. The coronet crowning the design indicates his status as a grandchild of the Sovereign.

The entire design is a carefully constructed symbolic statement: It combines the Royal Arms of the United Kingdom with unique differentiating marks of the Duke to display his familial connection, rank and social stature. The anchors and crosses are his personal "marks of difference" and indicate his unique distinctions. The lion and unicorn, traditional royal supporters, are altered to reflect his personal arms and give additional definition to the heraldic representation.

Glossy kiss-cut vinyl stickers made for smooth, indoor surfaces — laptops, journals, mirrors, and other finished items. Crisp edges, vivid color, strong hold, and not waterproof.

What “kiss-cut” means: the blade cuts the vinyl layer into the exact shape while leaving the backing liner whole, so pieces separate cleanly and lift off the sheet without tearing. It’s the neatest way to produce shaped stickers and multi-piece sheets.

  • Material: reliable vinyl face with a permanent acrylic adhesive formulated for smooth, non-porous surfaces.
  • Finish: glossy surface that enhances contrast and depth without feeling overly reflective.
  • Printing: eco-solvent inks provide dense color and crisp detail for fine lines and gradients.
  • Use case: intended for indoor environments only — not waterproof. Not recommended for continuous exposure to moisture or dishwashing.
  • Application friendly: easy-peel backing and a liner that releases cleanly to help reduce bubbles and misfeeds during placement.

These stickers perform best on smooth, dust-free surfaces — think laptop lids, sealed notebooks, glass, mirrors, finished shelving and lockers. They’ll stick well where the surface is flat and clean; avoid rough wood, silicone, fabric, and heavily textured paint.

  1. Clean: remove dust and oils with a lint-free cloth. For stubborn grime, use a mild soap and water rinse; let the area dry completely.
  2. Align: peel a corner, position carefully, then press the center down first.
  3. Smooth: work outward from the center with a soft card or a thumb to push air out and ensure the edges set down firmly.

Tip: give the adhesive 24 hours to fully settle before heavy handling. These are not designed for outdoor or wet conditions.

  • Gently dust with a soft, dry cloth, moving from the center outward to avoid scratching the gloss.
  • For light marks, a barely damp microfiber will lift residue — blot, don’t scrub, and dry right away.
  • Avoid bleach, solvents, abrasive pads, and steam; moisture or harsh chemicals can lift edges and fade inks.

Reminder: these stickers are not waterproof. Keep them away from sinks, outdoor exposure, and dishwasher cycles to maintain adhesion and finish.

Sizes are measured across the sticker’s longest side. For example, a 3″ sticker is 3 inches across its largest dimension (height or width, depending on the shape).

The kiss-cut follows the sticker’s outline for a tidy border; complex shapes can show small variances, but the advertised measurement refers to the maximum edge-to-edge length.
