A4-Kenya (Kenya) (Road Sign) STICKER Vinyl Die-Cut Decal

A flat, modern rendering of Kenya's A4 primary trunk road sign, shown as a teal panel carrying a single bold route designation in white.

Visual Elements & Composition

Dark teal green fills nearly the entire field, so the sign reads as one solid plane with no visual clutter. Golden yellow appears only as a small accent, and white is reserved for the lettering. The composition is a horizontal banner with the route marker centred and dominant. The letter A and the numeral 4 are set in heavy sans-serif type, sized to be read at a glance. Nothing competes with them, which is the point of the layout: a road sign exists to be understood quickly from a moving vehicle.

Meaning & Symbolism

The A4 is a primary national route managed by the Kenya National Highways Authority, running roughly 500 kilometres from Gilgil north to Loyangalani on the shores of Lake Turkana. Its colour coding, a blue-to-teal field with white lettering in the original scheme, separates primary routes from secondary roads. The design draws on British-style traffic conventions, a legacy of colonial-era administrative infrastructure planning. Today the corridor links central agricultural hubs with the pastoral landscapes of the northern Rift Valley, provides access to Samburu National Reserve and Lake Turkana, and feeds into the LAPSSET project, the large initiative linking Lamu Port with neighbouring countries. The modest-looking marker therefore stands for a considerable stretch of national connection.

Made for the Sticker Blank

A die-cut sticker is cut to its own outline, so this artwork keeps the sign's rectangular banner shape as its edge rather than sitting inside a border. The bold A4 reads as a single silhouette, which suits a surface where the design itself is the whole object. Set it on a laptop lid, a notebook cover, or a travel case, and the route marker becomes a small piece of Kenyan road infrastructure carried with you.

Die-cut vinyl decals: precision-cut shapes on premium water-resistant vinyl with a matte laminate and UV protection — built to resist sun, rain and everyday wear for long-lasting use.

These die-cut decals are trimmed exactly to the design, producing crisp edges and a professional finish. They’re made from thick, water-resistant vinyl and finished with a matte UV laminate that reduces glare while protecting colors from fading.

The production process uses eco-solvent inks for dense, even color and a protective overlaminate that helps the decal survive outdoor exposure. Rated for multi-year outdoor life when applied to the right surface, these decals give a clean, matte look without sacrificing durability.

  • Material: premium water-resistant vinyl engineered for weather resistance.
  • Finish: matte laminate that mutes shine and guards against scratches.
  • Print: eco-solvent inks for solid blacks and vivid color depth.
  • Protection: UV laminate extends outdoor life and helps prevent fade.
  • Longevity: rated to last multiple years outdoors under normal conditions.

Die-cut decals adhere best to smooth, non-porous surfaces — glass, metal, coated plastics and finished wood. They work well on bottles, windows, laptops and vehicle windows for short- to medium-term outdoor use.

  1. Prep the surface: remove dust and oils with a lint-free cloth; for residue use mild soap and water and allow to dry fully.
  2. Peel and position: lift a corner of the liner, align the decal and lay it down slowly, pressing from the center outward.
  3. Seal: smooth the edges with a card or your thumb to ensure full contact and reduce trapping air.

Note: to keep adhesive performance in wet conditions, apply decals to very smooth surfaces (for example: glass). Avoid rough or heavily textured materials where the adhesive can’t form a full bond.

Maintenance is low-effort. Gently wipe decals with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp microfiber and light pressure will clean the surface — dry immediately afterward.

Avoid abrasive pads, strong solvents or power washers; these can scratch the laminate or lift edges. Proper care preserves the matte finish and keeps colors vivid for longer.

Sizes are specified by the longest side. For example, a 4″ decal measures four inches across its greatest dimension. The die-cut follows the artwork’s contour so the decal sits flush with clean, professional edges.

Small variations can occur with intricate outlines, but the listed measurement always reflects the maximum edge-to-edge length for accurate placement planning.
