This design reproduces the unit insignia of the 79th Engineer Battalion, a shield-centred emblem built from crisp flat-vector shapes and heraldic symbols.

Visual Elements & Composition

A red and white shield anchors the composition, with royal blue and silver grey carrying the rest of the palette. A diamond-shaped panel holds a brick wall, and a gripping fist, a crossed sword and hammer, and curved scroll banners sit around it. The banners carry the words EXCELLENCE and PROVEN IN COMBAT, and the Latin motto FAIT ACCOMPLI completes the text. The layout is symmetrical and centred, so the eye moves from the shield's core outward to the banners and figures.

Meaning & Symbolism

The insignia dates to the mid-twentieth century and was approved as a Distinctive Unit Insignia in 1950, then redesignated in 1955. The red and white shield uses the colours of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The golden sun rayonnant recalls the unit's World War II service in the Philippines, and the motto FAIT ACCOMPLI translates as "It Is Accomplished." The crest's taeguk, spade iron, and caltrap commemorate service during the Korean War. The fist, sword, hammer, and brick wall pull the engineering and combat themes into one heraldic image.

Tips: Avoid heavily textured or silicone-coated surfaces. For curved items, apply slowly and don’t stretch the film.

  • Wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth from the center outward to lift dust and grime.
  • Avoid abrasive pads, harsh solvents, or pressure washers that can dull the holographic layer.
  • If placed on bottles or mugs, hand-wash is recommended. Prolonged high-heat cycles can shorten adhesive life.
