Visual Elements & Composition

Burnt orange takes up most of the field, with light grey and near black carrying the detail. The winged helmet faces right, its outline crisp against the orange. A diagonal grey band crosses the shield, and on it sit three black dots and a black bar. The lettering DEBIT, VERBUM and TRANSIRE runs across the composition in clean, unembellished type. Meaning & Symbolism

The winged helmet is the messenger of the gods, a fitting emblem for a signal unit whose work is carrying information across distance. The motto DEBIT VERBUM TRANSIRE is usually rendered as "the word must get through," which states the battalion's mission in three words. The dots and bar on the diagonal band carry the unit's numerical identity, the designation that sets the 56th apart from other signal battalions.   1. Prep: clean the area with mild soap and water or 70% isopropyl alcohol; let it dry fully.
  2. Apply: peel, align, and press from the center outward with a card or squeegee to push out air.
  3. Set: allow 24 hours for the adhesive to reach full bond; avoid heavy moisture during this time.

Tips: Avoid heavily textured or silicone-coated surfaces. For curved items, apply slowly and don’t stretch the film.

  • Wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth from the center outward to lift dust and grime.
  • Avoid abrasive pads, harsh solvents, or pressure washers that can dull the holographic layer.
  • If placed on bottles or mugs, hand-wash is recommended. Prolonged high-heat cycles can shorten adhesive life.
