Description/Blazon

A vertical rectangular embroidered item, arched outwardly at the top and bottom, divided vertically in the center with the left half dark blue and the right half red. Centered is a white vertical bayonet, point up, flanked by four white stars arranged two above and two below in a chevron pattern, all within a white border.

Symbolism

The use of red, white, and blue reflects the national colors. Flag blue represents the Infantry branch. The bayonet signifies the Infantry's core mission of close combat. The white stars commemorate the four World War II campaigns in Europe.

Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 25 May 2007.
