This design is a formal heraldic crest built around a gold rampant lion, a shield, and a scroll bearing a Latin motto, drawn for the 112th Engineer Battalion of the Ohio Army National Guard.

Visual Elements & Composition

The artwork is flat and vector-clean, with black dominating the field at roughly a third of the design. Silver grey carries much of the remaining area, and gold appears in smaller, deliberate accents that draw the eye to the lion. A shield sits at the centre of the composition, with a chevron and three grey rectangles set on black within it. Meaning & Symbolism

The motto Bello Ac Pace Paratus translates as "Prepared For War And Peace," and it frames the whole design around readiness and continuity. The lion, the shield and the scroll are classic heraldic devices, and the primary imagery is drawn from the Coat of Arms of General Moses Cleveland, the Ohio figure after whom the state's Cleveland was named. The unit's Distinctive Unit Insignia was first approved on September 26, 1925, and redesignated in 1945 and 1965, placing the crest firmly in the tradition of American military heraldry.

Tips: Avoid heavily textured or silicone-coated surfaces. For curved items, apply slowly and don’t stretch the film.

  • Wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth from the center outward to lift dust and grime.
  • Avoid abrasive pads, harsh solvents, or pressure washers that can dull the holographic layer.
  • If placed on bottles or mugs, hand-wash is recommended. Prolonged high-heat cycles can shorten adhesive life.
