Vermilion red sets the dominant accent, answered by teal blue and pale grey-blue in the background and tan and cream in the figure and mat. A pine tree and a red railing frame the general, and the patterned parasol repeats the decorative rhythm of the whole sheet. Three inscriptions anchor the image: 水滸傳 (Suikoden), 巨虎將軍 (General Giant Tiger), and 其二 (the second in a series).

Meaning & Symbolism

The title names the source as the Suikoden, the Chinese epic known in Japan as a rich well of heroic stories. Gakutei gives its legendary general a tiger's form, a traditional East Asian way of expressing strength, courage and command. The seated pose, the parasol and the pine speak to stillness and authority rather than action, so the warrior reads as a commander who needs no display. As a 19th-century print, the sheet also records how Suikoden characters circulated in Japanese popular art.

Shaped to a Sticker's Outline

A kiss-cut sticker follows the exact outline of its artwork, so the vertical panel and the curve of the parasol become the sticker's own silhouette. The tiger general keeps the full composition intact, from the pine at the edge to the red railing, with no border to interrupt it. Placed on a laptop lid, a notebook cover or a window, the shape itself carries the print's composition.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/yashima-gakutei-chinese-general-tiger-from-the-story-suikoden-19th-century-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-TSS-STICK-YSHGKT-2X2-14-alt-3.webp?v=1785625782
https://thestickerspace.com/products/yashima-gakutei-chinese-general-tiger-from-the-story-suikoden-19th-century-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
