Vermilion and navy carry the strongest contrast, set against parchment and pale grey, while sage tan adds a quieter middle tone. The fan bears a cartouche, and the printed text 大坂新町 (Osaka Shinmachi) and 柳川重信 (Yanagawa Shigenobu) sit within the design as the artist's and place's signatures. A blossom ornament marks her hair, and a feathered white shawl softens the edges of the figure.

Meaning & Symbolism

The print belongs to the late Edo period, when woodblock artists recorded the pleasure quarters and the merchant culture of Osaka and Edo. Its subject, Konami, is a Japanese confection sold under the Kurahashi-ya name, so the image ties a woman of fashion to the sweets and trade that defined the district. The floral pattern of the kimono and the blossom in her hair reflect the period's taste for seasonal refinement, and the signed cartouche places the work firmly within the artisanal tradition of its time.

Why This Image Suits a Kiss-Cut Sticker

A kiss-cut sticker follows its own outline, so the cut can trace the standing figure, the fan, and the shawl rather than sitting inside a square border. The vertical format of the print suits that treatment, letting the silhouette of the kimono define the object's edge. Each sticker carries the full Shigenobu composition, from the cartouche text to the blossom ornament, in a form that can be placed on a notebook, a laptop, or a collector's display.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/yanagawa-shigenobu-konami-of-kurahashi-ya-ca-1825-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-TSS-STICK-YNGSHG-2X2-16-alt-3.webp?v=1785626260
https://thestickerspace.com/products/yanagawa-shigenobu-konami-of-kurahashi-ya-ca-1825-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
