A rectangular cover is organised by circular floral medallions and lozenge-shaped panels, and cloud-scroll motifs move between them. At the top sits a vertical title label in ochre brown, inscribed with the characters 王石谷山水, and a red and cream tie ribbon crosses the composition. The layout is symmetrical and dense, so the eye moves from medallion to medallion before settling on the label.

Meaning & Symbolism

Wang Hui (1632–1717) was one of the preeminent painters of the early Qing dynasty. His landscape honours Juran and Yan Wengui, the tenth-century masters whose mountain forms and textures set the standard for classical Chinese landscape. In the literati tradition, working in an ancient master's manner was a statement of scholarly lineage, a dialogue with earlier art rather than simple copying. The characters on the label name the work as a landscape in the manner of Wang Shigu, Wang Hui's courtesy name, and the brocade cover signals that the painting was prized as a treasured object.

On the Kiss-Cut Sticker

A kiss-cut sticker is trimmed to its own outline, so the cover's rectangle, medallions, and ribbon can all become the sticker's edge. The album format suits a sticker that reads as a small, self-contained object, and the vertical title label gives the piece a clear top and bottom when it is placed. Its dense pattern rewards close looking, which fits a sticker applied to a surface where it is seen up close.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/wang-hui-landscape-in-the-style-of-juran-and-yan-wengui-dated-1713-v2-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-unknown-alt-3.webp?v=1788140187
https://thestickerspace.com/products/wang-hui-landscape-in-the-style-of-juran-and-yan-wengui-dated-1713-v2-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
