Pine green and blossom white dominate, with ink black providing the strongest lines. Within the panels, two swallows dart in flight above a breaking wave, a thatched-roof house sits beside a stream, and pine and blossom trees frame a waterfall. Each scene is spare, with open silk around the figures.

Meaning & Symbolism

In classical Japanese and wider East Asian painting, birds and flowers mark the turning of the seasons and the passage of time, while landscape expresses spatial expanse, contemplation, and the bond between people and the natural world. The album form itself was both a working reference for artists and a collectible luxury for connoisseurs, and this series reflects the refined sensibility and technical mastery of the workshops that produced it.

Cut to the Shape of a Swallow

A kiss-cut sticker follows its own outline, so the swallows, the waterfall, or a single square panel can be lifted from the sequence and applied as its own piece. Set on a journal cover, a laptop lid, or a window, the cut sticker carries one scene from the album into everyday use, where it can be seen up close and returned to again.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/unknown-thirty-paintings-of-birds-flowers-and-landscape-late-18th-century-v3-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-unknown-alt-3.webp?v=1788228187
https://thestickerspace.com/products/unknown-thirty-paintings-of-birds-flowers-and-landscape-late-18th-century-v3-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
