Queen Choladevi appears in a posture of profound deference, her form draped in traditional regal attire that contrasts with the austere, sparse surroundings of the sage’s forest retreat. Angiras is depicted with an iconic intensity, his silhouette dominated by the sharp, gestural lines characteristic of the Pahari style. The color palette relies on deep ochres and saturated reds, drawing the eye toward the exchange of wisdom occurring between the two figures.

Meaning & Symbolism

The scene functions as a visual representation of spiritual solicitation and royal devotion. The Vrataraja serves as a guide for performing ritual vows, and this specific illustration highlights the necessity of seeking guidance from a sage to ensure the efficacy of one's religious obligations. By depicting the Queen in a state of humble inquiry before Angiras, the artist emphasizes the hierarchy between worldly power and divine knowledge, a recurring motif in the lore surrounding this dispersed manuscript.

On the Kiss-Cut Sticker

The kiss-cut application isolates the intricate outlines of the royal and ascetic figures, allowing the precise contours of their historical attire and gestures to stand independent of a rectangular background. Because the design is cut to follow the specific silhouette of the figures, the sticker transforms a piece of 18th-century narrative art into a distinct graphic element that sits cleanly against the surface of a journal or laptop cover.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/unknown-queen-choladevi-before-the-hermit-sage-angiras-page-from-a-dispersed-vrataraja-king-of-ca-1790-v2-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-unknown-alt-3.webp?v=1788281735
https://thestickerspace.com/products/unknown-queen-choladevi-before-the-hermit-sage-angiras-page-from-a-dispersed-vrataraja-king-of-ca-1790-v2-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
