Muted traditional pigments define the garments and the wooden vessel, focusing attention on the poised gestures of the travelers as they transition from water to land.

Context & Cultural Resonance

Created around 1785, the artwork reflects the urbane aesthetic of ukiyo-e printmaking at its technical peak, celebrating the leisurely pursuits of Edo society. The scene documents both contemporary fashion and the leisurely river culture that defined urban plebeian life during the Tokugawa shogunate.

On the Kiss-Cut Stickers

This historic ukiyo-e composition maps directly to the precise outline of the kiss-cut sticker, isolating the sweeping lines of the figures and boat from the surrounding backing page. Placed on flat surfaces like a laptop lid or journal cover, the fine details of Kiyonaga's eighteenth-century woodblock masterpiece remain crisp and distinct within the custom contour.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/torii-kiyonaga-women-landing-from-a-pleasure-boat-drawn-up-to-the-shore-at-mukojima-on-sumida-river-edo-ca-1785-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-TSS-STICK-TRKYN-2X2-117-front.webp?v=1789256107
https://thestickerspace.com/products/torii-kiyonaga-women-landing-from-a-pleasure-boat-drawn-up-to-the-shore-at-mukojima-on-sumida-river-edo-ca-1785-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
