She is flanked by saints arranged in a dense, symmetrical formation that emphasizes verticality. The palette relies on the rich, saturated pigments characteristic of Florentine tempera, featuring deep crimsons, lapis lazuli blues, and warm gold accents that define the halos and textile borders. The figures are rendered with sharp, clear outlines, allowing the complex folds of their robes to create rhythmic patterns that draw the eye toward the interaction between the Virgin and the Christ Child.

Iconography and Historical Context

Commissioned during a period of high artistic refinement in mid-15th century Florence, this work represents the synthesis of devotional intimacy and formal majesty. The six saints surrounding the Madonna act as intercessors, each identifiable by their traditional attributes and posture. The work exemplifies the Pesellino style, noted for its delicate handling of facial features and a subtle, refined approach to the human form. By freezing these sacred figures in a moment of quiet, eternal contemplation, the design serves as a condensed window into the theological focus of the Quattrocento.

The Design as a Decal

Because this sticker is cut precisely to the outline of the figures, the complex, jagged silhouette of the saints and the throne creates a bold, sculptural presence. Unlike a standard rectangular print, the kiss-cut allows the art to exist as a floating, self-contained icon, detached from any background framing. This allows the intricate, overlapping robes and halos to define the edge of the object, turning the historical altarpiece into a distinct, portable fragment of Renaissance art.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/pesellino-francesco-di-madonna-and-child-with-six-saints-late-1440s-v3-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-TSS-STICK-PSLFRN-2X2-3-front.webp?v=1789437934
https://thestickerspace.com/products/pesellino-francesco-di-madonna-and-child-with-six-saints-late-1440s-v3-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
