The rabbit sits in a concentrated posture, its form anchored by soft, rhythmic ink work that contrasts with the rhythmic repetition of the rose petals. Subtle tonal variations define the textures of the foliage, balancing the solitary animal figure against the sprawling, ethereal structure of the botanical element.

Historical Significance

Attributed to Mori Ransai, an artist active during the late 18th century, this piece exemplifies the *kacho-ga* tradition, or "flower-and-bird" painting, which expanded to include small animals. The rabbit in this era often served as a symbol of longevity and moon-gazing folklore, while the roses represent the fleeting beauty of the natural cycle. This work captures the period’s obsession with capturing the singular "living" essence of a creature within a structured, highly stylized natural setting.

The Sticker Form

Because this design is a kiss-cut decal, the artwork is liberated from the constraints of a standard rectangular border. The die-cut follows the organic silhouette of the rabbit and the surrounding roses, allowing the illustration to appear as if it is naturally resting upon your laptop lid or journal cover. This specific edge-to-edge cut emphasizes the delicacy of Ransai’s linework, turning a historical print into a singular, floating graphic element that integrates seamlessly into your personal collection.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/mori-ransai-rabbit-and-roses-ca-177683-v1-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-unknown-front.webp?v=1788659159
https://thestickerspace.com/products/mori-ransai-rabbit-and-roses-ca-177683-v1-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
