Sharp, jagged mountain peaks emerge from dense, brush-stroked clouds, contrasting with the fluid, rhythmic lines of winding rivers and gnarled pine branches. The visual weight is anchored by asymmetrical clusters of rock and flora, drawing the eye in a continuous, scrolling motion that mimics the original horizontal handscroll format. Muted monochromatic tones dominate, relying on the depth of the ink density to establish foreground sharpness against ethereal, distant horizons.

Meaning & Symbolism

Attributed to the artistic output of the 16th century, these landscapes function as a philosophical meditation on the impermanence of nature and the passage of time. Each season is represented through specific botanical and meteorological shorthand—bamboo for resilience, mist for transition, and crags for the enduring earth. This imagery reflects the Zen-influenced aesthetic of the era, where the depiction of the landscape is less about geographic accuracy and more about internalizing the harmony between human observation and the natural order of the Four Seasons.

On the Kiss-Cut Sticker

As a kiss-cut sticker, the complex, organic contours of the mountains and clouds are liberated from the constraints of a traditional rectangular border. Because the sticker is cut precisely to the silhouette of the artwork, the negative space of the original landscape blends seamlessly into the surface where you apply it, allowing the jagged peaks to stand as an isolated, sharp-edged vignette.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/keison-landscapes-of-the-four-seasons-mid-16th-century-v2-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-unknown-front.webp?v=1788710101
https://thestickerspace.com/products/keison-landscapes-of-the-four-seasons-mid-16th-century-v2-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
