The stars are set in the rows of that period, and the flat vector style keeps the red, white and blue crisp and separate. The 3:2 proportion gives the flag a broader, more settled shape than the modern version.

Meaning & Symbolism

This is the forty-eight star flag, the version used from the admission of Arizona and New Mexico in 1912 until Alaska and Hawaii brought the count higher in 1959. Its stripes stand for the original colonies and the stars for the states of the union. The design marks a long mid-century stretch of national history and is a faithful record of how the flag looked in those decades.

On the Kiss-Cut Sticker

A kiss-cut sticker cuts around the flag's own outline, so the edge of the cloth becomes the edge of the piece while the backing stays whole. The bold stripes and blue canton read clearly on a laptop lid, a journal or a notebook cover. The 3:2 shape is a natural fit for a flat surface, where the full field of stars can be taken in at once.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/flag-of-the-united-states-1912-1959-3-2-aspect-ratio-united-states-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-18918551224840051007-alt-3.webp?v=1787544557
https://thestickerspace.com/products/flag-of-the-united-states-1912-1959-3-2-aspect-ratio-united-states-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
