The green Avis cross, with its fleur-de-lis ends, anchors the middle and gives the palette its only cool accent. A red border runs around the edge and holds a ring of gold castles, so the warm frame and the blue shields balance each other. The layout is symmetrical and the vector shapes stay sharp at sticker scale.

Meaning & Symbolism

The banner belongs to the House of Avis, which held the Portuguese crown from 1385 for two centuries. João I won the throne as Grand Master of the Military Order of Avis, and the green cross on the flag is that order's emblem. The blue shields keep the older royal arms, which are tied to the legend of Afonso Henriques and the Battle of Ourique in 1139. King John II reformed the design in 1485, which ended this period of the flag.

A Crowned Shape, Cut Clean

A kiss-cut sticker follows the exact outline of its artwork, so the green cross and the castle ring come off the backing without a square margin. On a notebook, a laptop lid or a window, the banner sits as a single medieval emblem with its own silhouette.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/flag-of-the-kingdom-of-portugal-1385-1485-type-2-portugal-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-23036966886705932343-front.webp?v=1786198162
https://thestickerspace.com/products/flag-of-the-kingdom-of-portugal-1385-1485-type-2-portugal-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
