The single red cross, a bold form in crimson, is the only element and runs across the flag with clean, straight edges. The design has no lettering, figures or secondary colours, so the contrast between the two tones does all the work. The result is a flat, legible emblem that reads clearly from a distance.

Meaning & Symbolism

The cross is the core of the emblem, and its form echoes the St George's Cross used in English heraldry, a reminder that many colonial-era American flags drew on the banners of the British crown. The flag identifies a county that was established in the colonial period, and the date range in its name marks the span over which this banner represented local government. Historical county flags like this one express civic identity and a sense of continuity, and this design keeps that record of the county's past in view.

Shaped for a Kiss-Cut Sticker

A kiss-cut sticker follows the outline of the artwork, so the cross can sit directly on a surface without a border. Its sharp, straight lines suit a flag built from a simple red-on-white layout, and the sticker works well on a flat indoor surface such as a journal cover, a desk or a notebook, where the cross can be seen up close.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/flag-of-prince-georges-county-maryland-1696-1963-united-states-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-23047214974488011070-alt-3.webp?v=1787546426
https://thestickerspace.com/products/flag-of-prince-georges-county-maryland-1696-1963-united-states-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
