Two vertical stripes sit on the hoist side, and five horizontal stripes run across the rest of the flag. The strong interlocking pattern of stripes makes the flag bold and easy to read at a distance.

Meaning & Symbolism

The flag was designed by the architect Louis Kooken and adopted on 14 October 1927. Its colours are drawn from the city's coat of arms and from the flag of North Brabant. The two vertical stripes stand for Eindhoven itself. The five horizontal stripes represent the five municipalities merged into the city in 1920: Woensel, Tongelre, Stratum, Gestel and Strijp.

Cut to the Shape of the Flag

A kiss-cut sticker follows the outline of the flag, so the stripes and the hoist bar sit on the surface as one clean shape. Its flat, graphic pattern suits a smooth surface such as a laptop lid, a journal or a window, where the civic emblem stays bold and easy to see.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/flag-of-eindhoven-the-largest-city-of-the-province-of-north-brabant-netherlands-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-61374957021754049909-alt-3.webp?v=1787827940
https://thestickerspace.com/products/flag-of-eindhoven-the-largest-city-of-the-province-of-north-brabant-netherlands-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
