Christ is rendered with soft, painterly brushwork, his hair falling in rhythmic waves that frame a face marked by solemnity and introspection. The color palette favors earth-toned ochres and muted reds, punctuated by the glowing, reflective sphere held in his hand, which acts as the visual anchor of the piece.

Historical Iconography

Originating from the 1620s, this work leans into the emotive power of Counter-Reformation art, moving away from rigid iconographic traditions toward a more tactile, humanized representation of the sacred. The orb—the globus cruciger—symbolizes universal sovereignty, yet Fetti presents it here with a focus on the weight and texture of the object rather than mere heraldry. It is a study in quiet intensity, reflecting the era’s fascination with individual religious experience and the masterful manipulation of light to guide the viewer’s focus toward spiritual depth.

On the Kiss-Cut Sticker

Because the kiss-cut traces the precise silhouette of this historic painting, the artwork is liberated from the constraints of a traditional rectangular frame. This allows the fluid edges of Fetti’s composition to occupy your surface directly, turning a piece of 17th-century devotional art into a sharp, graphic element that sits flush against your laptop or journal cover.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/domenico-fetti-salvator-mundi-ca-162223-v1-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-TSS-STICK-DMNFTT-2X2-1N0U7-front.webp?v=1789343008
https://thestickerspace.com/products/domenico-fetti-salvator-mundi-ca-162223-v1-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
