The bold X leads the code, followed by three digits, all sitting on one centred line. The surrounding rounded-rectangle border is the only other shape, and it holds the code within a clear frame. The flat vector finish keeps every stroke even, so the sign reads as a single, uncluttered mark.

Meaning & Symbolism

Road numbers like X699 are how county networks map themselves, giving each route a short name that appears on signs, maps and navigation screens alike. This one identifies a road in China, and the artwork reduces it to its designation alone. It speaks to the cartographic habit of naming every road, including the ones most travellers never think to write down.

Cut to the Outline

A die-cut sticker follows the edge of its artwork, so the rounded border is the sticker's entire outline, with no square field around it. The shape suits a flat, smooth surface where the code can be seen head-on, like a camera bag, a hard drive case, a clipboard or the lid of a tool chest. The vinyl is rated for indoor and outdoor use, so it can stay on the road as well as on the desk.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/china-county-road-x699-china-road-sign-sticker-vinyl-die-cut-decal-TSS-STICK-CHNCNT-WHITED-1FOMR-front.webp?v=1793835119
https://thestickerspace.com/products/china-county-road-x699-china-road-sign-sticker-vinyl-die-cut-decal
