Pale ochre silk forms the ground, and the figure's dark navy robe dominates the composition. A vermilion sash cuts sharply across that blue, while taupe brocade adds a quieter pattern to the surrounding fabric. The blush pink blossoms and a black lacquered hair ornament pick up the warm and cool accents across the piece. The image is ink and colour on silk, and its floral pattern runs through the whole arrangement.

Meaning & Symbolism

The title gathers three seasons into one image: winter snow, the autumn moon, and spring cherry blossoms. Together they set out a traditional view of nature as something that turns through the year. The Yoshiwara pleasure district of Edo gives that cycle its human setting, linking the seasons to the leisure and fashion of the city. The work is attributed to Chōbunsai Eishi, an Edo painter whose bijin studies of elegant women define the early nineteenth-century style. The Metropolitan Museum of Art holds the original, which was made as a triptych of hanging scrolls.

On the Kiss-Cut Sticker

A kiss-cut sticker is cut to the outline you choose, so the artwork can be shaped to the figure, the scroll, or the blossom branch rather than sitting inside a rectangle. The silhouette becomes part of the composition. For collectors of Japanese woodblock and painting traditions, that makes the sticker a small, portable version of a scroll, placed wherever a single figure can hold the eye.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/chbunsai-eishi-snow-moon-and-cherry-blossoms-yoshiwara-in-three-seasons-early-19th-century-v3-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-unknown-alt-3.webp?v=1787935932
https://thestickerspace.com/products/chbunsai-eishi-snow-moon-and-cherry-blossoms-yoshiwara-in-three-seasons-early-19th-century-v3-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
