The route designation BR-205 sits at the centre of the composition as the dominant element, with the abbreviation jct marking the junction it names. Nothing competes with the lettering, so the sign reads at a glance, the way road markers are meant to. The graphic treatment is minimalist, borrowing the plain, functional logic of transport signage rather than decoration.

Meaning & Symbolism

In Brazil, the BR prefix designates federal highways within the national road network, and the number that follows identifies a specific route within that system. The BR-205 is one of these numbered federal routes, and this artwork isolates its designation at a junction, the point where one road meets another and traffic is distributed. That moment of connection is the subject: the artwork treats a single road marker as a node in the wider network of national transit and regional logistics. It draws on a long tradition of cartography and signage design, where a clear code carries the geography of an entire country.

Made for the Cut Edge of a Sticker

A die-cut sticker is shaped to its own outline, so the design stops exactly where the sign ends. Applied to a laptop, a toolbox, a travel case or a notebook, the piece reads as a small, self-contained marker, the same way a road sign stands apart from the land around it. For collectors of transit ephemera, or anyone with a connection to the regions the BR-205 serves, the sticker turns a functional highway code into a personal reference point.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/br-205-jct-brazil-road-sign-sticker-vinyl-die-cut-decal-TSS-STICK-BR205-WHITED-front.webp?v=1793772306
