The design is rich in historical and symbolic elements, reflecting the unit's heritage and purpose.

Central Design Elements

At the heart of the design is a silver (argent) shield, prominently displaying the traditional provincial badge of Bohuslän: a red embattled castle and tower (a crenellated fortress). This represents the historical connection to the Bohuslän region, the fortress being the region's namesake.

The castle is further detailed with two golden portcullises (gates with locks) featuring black hinges and locks. Flanking the castle are a blue sword (azure) standing upright on the right (heraldic dexter) and a blue rampant lion, with golden tongue, teeth, and claws (armed and langued or), on the left (heraldic sinister). These components add martial symbolism, conveying themes of defense, bravery, and courage.

Additional Symbols

Beneath the shield, two crossed muskets (gold) are positioned in saltire (diagonally crossed). This signifies the military and Home Guard nature of Bohus‑Dalgruppen, marking it as a unit-specific emblem rather than a purely regional one.

Crowning the shield is a royal crown, which represents allegiance to the Crown and the Swedish state. This element emphasizes the unit's connection to the nation and its governing authority.

Symbolism and Meaning

The design as a whole presents a cohesive narrative. The fortress castle, a symbol of the Bohuslän region, is combined with military symbols such as the sword, lion, crossed muskets and the crown. This composition signifies the group's connection to the region of Bohuslän, its martial duty to the Swedish crown, and its role as a military unit.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/bohusdalgruppen-vapen-sweden-coat-of-arms-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-2-inch-white-position1.webp?v=1768302278
https://thestickerspace.com/products/bohusdalgruppen-vapen-sweden-coat-of-arms-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
