Fine, steady lines define the profile of the figure, with deep ochre, mineral reds, and vibrant lapis tones providing structure to the iconography. The script flows in precise, elongated Nagari characters, anchoring the central illustration within a rhythmic textual grid. Gold leaf accents provide a sharp, reflective luminosity that pierces through the weathered age of the original document, emphasizing the deliberate hierarchy of the religious narrative.

Chronicle of the Jain Tradition

This leaf depicts Bhadrabahu, a pivotal figure in Jain history, revered as the last Acharya to hold the entire canon of scripture in his memory. His presence in this manual signifies the transmission of oral tradition into the physical, portable format of the book. The stylized, angular anatomy and the specific chromatic palette are hallmarks of the Western Indian painting style prevalent in the 1400s. It serves as a visual bridge to a medieval monastic world where the act of copying the Kalpa Sutra was itself a meditative religious exercise.

The Sticker as a Miniature Archive

The kiss-cut contour isolates the ornate, rectangular geometry of the manuscript leaf from its original context, allowing the historical document to inhabit a new space. By extracting this fragment of a 15th-century ritual object, the sticker transforms an archival artifact into a portable, modern decal. It functions as a sharp, high-contrast silhouette that retains the weight of its provenance while fitting neatly onto personal journals, laptops, or any flat, designated surface.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/bhadrabahu-leaf-from-a-kalpa-sutra-jain-book-of-rituals-15th-century-v3-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-unknown-front.webp?v=1788826866
https://thestickerspace.com/products/bhadrabahu-leaf-from-a-kalpa-sutra-jain-book-of-rituals-15th-century-v3-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
