Central to the piece is a pedestal-like form, heavily decorated with acanthus leaves, volutes, and scrolling motifs that suggest the fluid grace of forged iron or cast bronze. The etching uses precise hatching to denote deep shadows and highlight the metallic contours of the object, creating a sense of three-dimensional volume against the stark white of the original paper background.

Historical Craftsmanship

Originating from the late 17th-century collection Desseins de Brasiers, this print serves as a technical blueprint for the elite artisans of the period. It represents the height of the decorative arts under the influence of the French court, where functional heating objects were elevated into status symbols through intricate metalwork. The design functions as a visual record of a time when the boundary between utilitarian object and sculptural masterpiece was intentionally blurred.

On the Kiss-Cut Sticker

As a kiss-cut decal, this intricate architectural study is liberated from the rectangular constraints of its original archival print. The contour-cut follows the elaborate silhouettes of Loir’s ornamental volutes, allowing the complex, sweeping curves of the brazier to stand alone as a graphic element. Because the design is isolated to its own custom outline, the viewer can appreciate the fine density of the cross-hatching and the deliberate balance of the Baroque symmetry when applied to flat, smooth surfaces like journals or laptop lids.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/alexis-loir-plate-4-from-desseins-de-brasiers-dont-les-ornements-peuuent-seruir-aux-cuuettes-16601713-v1-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-TSS-STICK-LXSLR-2X2-19-front.webp?v=1789219742
https://thestickerspace.com/products/alexis-loir-plate-4-from-desseins-de-brasiers-dont-les-ornements-peuuent-seruir-aux-cuuettes-16601713-v1-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
