Tiberius is depicted in profile, dressed in ornate, classical-inspired military regalia that highlights the texture of his armor and the flowing, dramatic drapery of his cloak. The horse serves as a grounding force, rendered with dynamic musculature and elaborate equestrian trappings. A sense of historical grandeur dominates the frame, framed by the rigid posture of the emperor and the precise, rhythmic movement of the steed, pulling the viewer’s eye toward the intricate details of the period-specific weaponry and ornamentation.

Imperial Iconography & Context

As part of the Twelve Caesars on Horseback series, this print functions as a study in power and dynastic legitimacy. De Bruyn translates the classical mythos of the Roman Empire into the visual language of the Northern Renaissance, elevating the figure of Tiberius into a symbol of sovereign authority. These engravings served as both artistic demonstrations of technical prowess and as historical documentation for collectors of the era, preserving a curated narrative of Roman history through the lens of early modern print culture.

On the Kiss-Cut Sticker

The kiss-cut format allows the complex, energetic outline of the horse and rider to stand independently, separating the sharp historical lines of the engraving from any extraneous background. Because the design is cut precisely to the silhouette of the artwork, the composition commands attention when placed on journals, laptops, or flat desk surfaces, turning a centuries-old print into a distinct, portable emblem of classical history.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/abraham-de-bruyn-claudius-tiberius-nero-from-twelve-caesars-on-horseback-ca-156587-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-TSS-STICK-BRHD-2X2-4-front.webp?v=1789153871
https://thestickerspace.com/products/abraham-de-bruyn-claudius-tiberius-nero-from-twelve-caesars-on-horseback-ca-156587-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
