Drapery folds heavily around the slumped bodies, emphasizing the dead weight of sudden exhaustion, while stark contrasts of light and shadow carve out the recession of the dark chamber.

Parable and Print Culture

Originating from Bosse's engagement with moralizing scriptural narratives, the scene translates the Gospel of Matthew into the domestic realism of the French Baroque era. The sleeping women serve as a direct cautionary emblem against spiritual unpreparedness and idle neglect, transforming an ancient theological warning into a vivid domestic tableau of squandered time.

On the Kiss-Cut Stickers

Trimmed tightly to the erratic contours of the printed etching, this historical vignette translates its fine-line detail into a sharp silhouette that can be pressed onto smooth flat surfaces like laptops, journals, or windows.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0493/3949/8646/files/abraham-bosse-foolish-virgins-sleeping-ca-1635-v1-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal-TSS-STICK-BRHBSS-2X2-78-front.webp?v=1789149745
https://thestickerspace.com/products/abraham-bosse-foolish-virgins-sleeping-ca-1635-v1-sticker-vinyl-kiss-cut-decal
